MENUMENU
Wauseon Machine is equipped to design and produce prototype parts for our customers, which is ideal for testing fit and functionality of a part prior to production. Durable, fully-functional parts are built by importing a 3D file into one of our 3D printers.
With our FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) unit, the part is printed by layering plastic and supporting material. Our printer has a 10” x 10” x 12” (XYZ) build envelope and can hold a ± .0095” tolerance.
Our PolyJet 3D printing technology works by dropping microscopic layers of liquid photopolymer onto a build tray and curing with a UV light. The build envelope of this machine is 11.5” x 7.5” x 5.8” (XYZ) with a tolerance of ± .0039”.
Several material types are available including:
In addition to our 3D printing services, we also machine prototypes using the same methods and equipment as an actual production order. We review all part features and requirements and offer cost saving ideas whenever possible. We utilize temporary or expendable tooling if required or build tooling that can be later utilized for production.
We can also assist you in the design of the prototype parts by following a print and process review of your requirements to simplify manufacturing the part and future production.
